With the new version, the solution offering of the WYS Platform will expand even further. Solutions designed for service operators called STOC (Security Technical and Operational Center) will be introduced. In addition, the performance of the Platform has been further enhanced, enabling logical solution packages of over 100,000 systems. The WYS Platform offers these solutions e.g. automatic centralized technical and operational monitoring and management, not to mention versatile BI reporting.
The STOC solution
The STOC solution of the WYS Platform enables centralized and decentralized technical and operational control center solutions. Automated solutions streamline and diversify cost-effectively the prerequisites of the control center operations for service providers.
The STOC solution provides comprehensive, centralized access to all connected systems. Based on the situation it automatically combines the data produced by the different systems at the sites into operator’s situational awareness, which includes e.g. analyzed data, live and recorded video and operating procedures. Automation significantly streamlines and helps the work of the control center operator.
Performance and ease of use
The WYS Platform is basically made to monitor and manage large system entities. With the help of the Platform, these systems and devices are managed, controlled and monitored in real time and automatically.
"In the 2024 R2 version of the Platform, we have focused especially on the ease of handling large data masses and event streams, so that it is possible for the user to seamlessly manage extensive systems around the globe. In the operation of the user interface, the performance can be seen in short page load times and the fast opening of large Dashboard views," says Teppo Nieminen, CTO of WYS.
In addition to automatic intelligent control measures, manual control actions are now available as an easy-to-use Dashboard component. It enables quick controls within the framework of user rights as simple virtual buttons, e.g. the controls of the different systems’ groups, such as fire and burglar alarm systems, on/off functions, opening/closing of gates, or even closing/opening of all doors, etc.
Deviations automatically
In the WYS Platform version 2024 R2, the Platform automatically creates so-called usage profiles from the systems and devices connected to the Platform. The usage profiles are used to visualize and describe device-related use, such as e.g. events generated by the system, door openings in time and quantity.
With the help of the usage profiles, the Platform automatically learns to recognize deviations from the normal operation of the systems and devices, so the deviations that are usually lost in data flows can be highlighted automatically in real time.
Management of different systems with one user interface
The WYS Platform combines all the connected systems into one logical entity, which enables e.g. combining different access control systems into one easy-to-use user interface that offers a clear and comprehensive visualization of people's movements in different sites. The versatile BI reports provide in-depth information about the operation of the site and the use of access rights, helping to optimize security and efficiency.
Teppo Nieminen says: "Regardless of the access control systems used in different locations, you get dynamic situational awareness of the whole entity and can easily visualize and compare the utilization rates of different facilities in different locations, or find different trends and deviations in access events. Visualizing routes on floor plans helps to present deviations from a person's usual bahavior in an easily observable form."
In the development of the user interface, customer feedback and continuous improvement play a central role. It is important that the user interface is intuitive, easy to use and visually pleasing, as well as individual, so that each user achieves their goals as efficiently as possible.
